RULES:
Each player nominates three horses each week as their “Darts” in hopes of hitting the pre-designated “Target” (horse can be from any URC supporting stable). Only races on Saturday or Sundays are eligible for this competition. Any track and race condition may be entered. NO HOT RACES!!! Race must have 8 horses entered total!!!
Numbers in play: 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 (innings)
Rules of play: This game is similar to the actual game of baseball. Players try to score as many points as possible per inning in order to win.
Players shoot three darts per turn (your entered horses). The board is broken into pieces called innings. Each one of these innings is broken into three scoring sections.
The first section is the largest, and covers all of the uncolored area between the cork and the red ring. This area is worth one point if your horse finishes third. In the image below, it is highlighted (roughly) in yellow.
The second scoring area is the red ring, worth two points (horse finishing 2nd). Oddly enough, this area is referred to as "the red". The final scoring area, known as "the trips", is the thin uncolored outer ring.
Darts landing in this area score three points each.
Scoring Example #1:
The group of darts below was thrown at inning number Eight. The scoring would
be:
Total for the inning - Five points.
Scoring Example #2:
The group of darts below were thrown at inning number Two.
The scoring for that group would be:
Total points scored during the inning - Six.
SCORING
Win = 3 points
Place = 2 points
Show = 1 points
Off the board = 0 points
PRIZES:
First Place - 1000
Second Place - 500 credits
Third Place - 250 credits
TIES
If the game is tied at the end of nine innings, extra
innings are shot to determine the winner, starting with inning ten.
This will involve a one-week dart board where the tied players will compete
to break the tie starting with the "10th inning", the highest scorer will
take the higher of the tied positions.
If there is a tie for any position, the tied players will be deemed to
capture the tied spot and the spot(s) immediately following.
For example, a tie for first would result in the tie breaker battling for the First and Second place spots. A multiple tie would battle for multiple positions.
In example, a three-way tie for third would compete for the
Third, Fourth and Fifth place finish.
In the event that a tie continues to exist, subsequent tie breaker weeks
will be held until the tie is broken.
RYDER CUP
Starts Sept. ???
Rules:
Round 1
The 1st leg of the series will be like the Sim 3 man contest. What your team is looking to achieve is a win in each of the 6 categories. They will all be worth 1 pt. (no local, track restricted, "our own" bid races... ONLY "all sim" races will be allowed.
Conditioned nw2l or 3l races are fine, as long as they are not bought by us. Stakes count the same as graded races..If anyone has any questions, I'll answer and so we are clear going forward.
You get 1 pt for each condition "cleared".. 1 pt per "team" cleared condition. If you win 3 msw, only 1 pt..
Round 2
Team, Singles: Will be held 5 weeks later. It will involve 1 team member facing another team member from a different group (computer draw) . In other words, in round 2 lets say that Mrlucky and Tops are teammates.
Kim and Newmarket are teammates. By random draw, we'll say that Kim is facing Mrlucky. It is now the same goal and objective as week 1, but Kim's 2 stables are facing Mrlucky only 2 stables.
Which would mean that Newmarket is facing Tops. The scoring is different if both teams win a race, "ONLY" the higher one gets a point. If Mrlucky wins a MSW, he gets 1 pt.
If Mrlucky does not win a MSW race, he gets zero. If Kim wins a Msw with a 79 and Mrlucky wins with a 73, only Kim and Newmarket get the point. Etc, with the rest of the races. The scoring is added to the previous week 1 total that they had. All "wins" in each category is 1 pt.
Round 3 (Individual Comp) :
Will be held another 5 weeks later. Now it will be "team horses" Within your 2 combined stables, you will have to choose 1 horse that week to represent your team for each conditioned race. (If you cannot get in touch, pm, email or whatever, one person can make the decision for the team.
It can be altered, but only if by 11am USA Est. The same scoring applies, 1 pt for each conditioned race won. I have given 4 weeks in between, to breed, claim or whatever u need to do to get a winning conditioned horse in your stable.
Prizes:
Feb. 15th
This is a contest that is modeled after auto racing with the objective of being
the first to cross the finish line with 500 points or more!!!
Each URC Resident can nominate TWO of their URC stables to be their "Car" in
this race. Each week, you can nominate only one of your horses to be your
designated vehicle for the week. To be eligible, the horse must be racing in a
field of 6 or more (Saturday & Sunday races only). Nominations must be made
before the game post time of such races.
Scoring is based on the finish of your horse as follows:
1st 50 pts
2nd 40 pts
3rd 30 pts
4th 20 pts
5th 10 pts.
In NASCAR racing, bonus points are given to racers that lead for a lap. This
contest also has bonus points!!!!! There are two ways to get a bonus.
First, if you finish in the top 5, you will get an additional point for every
horse yours beats. Win a race with 14 entries; you will get 13 additional
points. Finish fifth in a six horse field, you will get one additional point.
Thus, the more horses in the field, the bigger the bonus potential!!!!
Second, if your runner goes off at odds of 10-1 or higher and wins the race, you
will earn extra points equivalent to its odds. The change will be ignored, thus
if your horse is at 13.80-1, you will earn 13 additional points.
NASCAR racing also has its negatives. Cars will have tires that blow out,
engines that explode, accidents as well as penalties to drivers for driving too
fast in the pits. This contest will also have a penalty associated with it.
Should your horse finish in last place in a race, it will incur a penalty. The
penalty will equal the number of lengths the horse loses to the winner by with a
minimum of 10 points and a maximum of 25 points. Fractional lengths will be
ignored, thus if your horse finishes last by 12 1/2 lengths, you will be
penalized 12 points.
The game ends when an individual's barn is the first to pass the finish line
with 500 or more points. If two or more pass with 500 points, the one with the
higher point total will be the winner.
1st place Prize Horse
2nd place 500 credits
3rd place 250 credits
In case of a tie for any of the positions, a one-week tie breaking race will be
held for those that are tied. The individual earning the most points at the end
of the tie breaker will be the winner. If still tied, another run off race will
be in order.
PIT STOPS
Each player has the option of making a "PIT STOP" each week. Pit Stops can be
beneficial to racers if done correctly (new tires) or punishing (dropping lug
nuts). If a player opts to pit, they can pick up an additional 10 points by
picking the exact finish their car will finish. Get the Pit Stop wrong, it will
cost you 2 points.
This is an option and players are not obligated to make a PIT STOP. If you opt
to take a PIT STOP, it must be designated when the horse is entered along with
the expected finish.
START YOUR ENGINES!!!
Remember, up to TWO URC stables are allowed per player and stable nominations
are now open.
There will be 4 races that are posted every week, given a $2 per race allowance.
Player picks the winning horse in a race and gets the price winning horse pays.
Any race the player does not win $2 will be deducted from your "payroll".
Eligible players will have raced a minimum of 44of the 48 races scheduled.
Player with the most $$$ will win Horse from URC holding stable* *= linked to stable
1 Contest is open to all URC residents. Each individual may enter up to four
horses and run them out of any supporting, resident stable.

of each runner will count for the scoring of this contest. Please post your
horses in the Forum thread.

3 Horses must be 3 years old when nominated, and must be unraced when the
contest starts. You may enter a colt or filly; there is one score sheet for all
competitors.

credits, or any other way you know of breeding. Entries will also be accepted
from auction buys, stable transfers, and from new stables. The sole criteria is
that the entry be unraced prior to Jan 4.
5 Horses will be awarded 10 points for a win, 7 points for a place, 5 points for
a show, 3 points for a 4th, and 1 point for a 5th. All races at all tracks will
count towards this contest, with the exception of HOT races. HOT races will not
be counted for this contest.

total shows. If a tie still exists the game credits for those positions will be
added together and divided by the number of tied horses.
