The Borneo Cat (bay cat) is endemic to the Indonesian island of Borneo. The usual suspects, deforesting and poaching, are the main reasons why this cat is highly endangered. The bay cat is forest-dependent and increasingly threatened by habitat destruction following deforestation in Borneo. Habitat loss due to commercial logging and conversion to oil palm plantations pose its greatest threat.
